Day 201
Whether we like it or not, or whether we need it or not, it seems that every time we turn around, pop culture is hitting us over the head with some Mother Earth sort of missional message. From songs to movies to sermons to cable news, media disguised as entertainment or spirituality turns on a dime with a vegetarian climate change agenda that borders on religious fervor.
All that to say, I was initially reluctant to use this meditation space to promote a 'green thing' (not that there's anything wrong with that). But upon further review...
I have destroyed and abused so much of what God gave unto my care. I know I can never fix that which I've ruined through my addiction and pure selfishness, even as I try to recover myself from near destruction. God gave me a life and opportunity that I nearly threw completely away; what can I do today to honor this gift, and how can I best prepare myself for reconstruction and service in the time I have left? Yes, there's probably an environmental metaphor in there somewhere.
Is it just me, or is it getting hot in here?
